First escape room in works for Ballantyne

Ballantyne's first escape room is slated to open early next year.

Husband-and-wife team Chris and Tina Burfield are behind that venture, which will be called Timed Out.

It is targeting a February opening.

The 3,000-square-foot escape room will be located in the Toringdon Market shopping center near Earth Fare at 12339 North Community House Road.

Plans call for two intial escape rooms.  One, called Precinct, will be set in a former police station.  Another, called West, will take guests back to the days of the Wild West.

Two additional rooms will be added in the future.

There's also space for corporate eents, parties and groups.

Timed Out will also offer individual and team assessment and coaching.

New South Properties of the Carolinas represented Timed Out in the transaction.

ZGM Brand and Peadon Finein Architecture are involved in the project.
